Olafur Eliasson’s art reflects his interest in perception, movement, real experiences and impressions of himself. Eliasson strives to create links between themes in art and society as a whole. He sees art as a way of transforming thought into action.

His work stretches far beyond his workshop, museums and galleries. He creates art in the public space and architectural projects, employing a range of techniques including sculpture, painting, photography, film and installations.

 

First exhibiting in 1995, Eliasson has staged a number of major projects in different countries. In 2003 he represented Denmark at the 50th Venice Biennale and exhibited an installation in the Turbine Hall of London’s Tate Modern. In 2015 his Reality Machines at the Moderna Museet de Stockholm was the most visited exhibition by a contemporary artist the institution has ever staged.
