In this age of ubiquitous “Selfies”, the majority of Cirenza's work takes us outside this self-obsessed world to that of “Otheries”. She asks us to take a minute to really look at the virtually invisible people that surround us daily. What do we share? How do we differ? What binds us? What moves us, and what destroys us? She doesn't use photographs, she draws/paints live: on the tube, at cafes, on the street, in the countryside. Photos can give us too much information-- a soul is a powerful subject defined by energy that she seeks to transmit via brushstrokes, light, gestures & colours—not via details.
