June LEE (b. 1985) is a South Korean artist whose work is on display in our current exhibition Korean's Spirit II. Recently featured on Christie’s “What to see and trends to follow”, LEE has just been commissioned by Nike Asia to create a limited edition. In January 2019, she started a residency at MASS MoCA (Contemporary Art Museum, Massachussets).
LEE’s wok focuses on the individual in the contemporary society today. She explores the neutrality and duality of the individual as a distinct unity and again as a constituent of the collective society. In particular, she shed light on the social phenomena surrounding the individual in contemporary social space, especially on negative conditions such as bystander effect, mass psychology, scapegoating, and biases. Using East Asian element of the thread, which represents human life, to form human figure-like works, her art looks at the problems of the modern society from a third-person perspective. June LEE holds a BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been shown in important museums in California, Florida, Washington, Belgium, France and South Korea.
Yifat Bezalel (b.1975) lives and works in Tel Aviv.
Her work draws its inspiration from her spiritual and physical surroundings. She has been exhibited in important international institutions such as MACRO Museo di Arte Contemporeanea di Roma ; Tate Liverpool ; Museo d'Arte Moderna e Contemporeanea di Trento e Rovereto ; Kunsthalle Hamburg ; Israel Museum of Art, Jerusalem.
